My job today was to model jewelry for an auction. The day . . went really well n__n. I responded to an ad earlier this month for data entry but didn’t get a response, so I sort of forgot about it. My sister however, did get a reply because she’s had experience with data entry before. Well yesterday she got a call and said that one of the girls had dropped out, and the woman asked if she knew anybody who would be interested. Soooooooo eventually I did get the job. Only instead of entering data, I got to model jewelry!
I’ve never been to an auction before, much less work in one, but it made me realize a few things:
1. I will never be able to afford the jewelry I was trying to sell. Or any of the items, really. One rug sold for 17 grand — more than what I’ve ever made at the Department of Justice in my three and a half years combined.
2. All of the items that were auctioned are worth wayyyyyyyyy more than what they were sold for :/ I felt so bad for the auctioneer. I almost wanted to say “NOOOOOOOOOO DON’T ACCEPT THAT JEEZ! THAT RUG CAME LITERALLY FROM THE HANDS OF KINGS”
3. I have the most respect for the auctioneer and the people working there. Sooo much patience is required :/
How in the hell do people accumulate so much money?
What kind of auction was this?? I went to an auction once and the crap they had was crap. We’re talking Dell computer crap.
For shiz.
